Who's coming

Keep it short. Keep it simple. Make it easy enough to actually do.

Why this exists

I gave my son a phone at 11 because it made sense at the time.

He was biking farther, going out with friends, and I wanted to be able to reach him.

What I did not expect was how quickly the phone became the default.

Fishing has become one of the few things I can suggest that the boys will actually come with.

It gives them something real to do.

They cast. They snack. Sometimes their lines get tangled in trees. They find turtles. They happily put on a mosquito patch. Sometimes nobody catches anything.

And somehow, it still counts.

Boys fishing together by a sunlit river

That is really what Cast & Connect is about.

One simple reason to get outside together.

Simple outdoor rituals for the years that move fast.

The fish are optional. The time together is the point.
